How to Fix A RUFF Day!

If you’ve been going through a ruff pooch lately or just need some paw-sitivity (sorry we will refrain from further dog puns...), it might be time to look toward the healing benefits of pet therapy!

The Barnes Center at the Arch has a brand new pet therapy room, located right across from the pharmacy. Here’s how it works: The Barnes Center partners up with local pet therapy training centers, like Pet Partners of Central New York. These centers have dozens of evaluated doggies eager to “demonstrate and promote positive human-animal interactions to improve the physical, emotional and psychological lives” of people just like you!

Doggos like Clayton, a four-year-old Goldendoodle, come in with their handlers eager for cuddles, and all YOU have to do is show up! No sign up necessary.

Okay. We know they’re ~just~ dogs. But you’d be extremely surprised at how a little tail-wagging can brighten your day! We at Jerk headed down to The Barnes Center to see for ourselves...the results were astounding.

Just the sight of a dog made us feel right at home and, real talk, we all know you miss your dog more than your own parents. They may not be able to talk or give advice, but dogs give unconditional moral support, unlike any human can.

So next time school’s driving you mutts (hah sorry), don’t automatically reach for your sad boi playlist, consider Pet Therapy! Feel the rejuvenating benefits of petting the goodest boy for yourself.

The open hours change per-semester, but right now they have playful pups available for cuddles on…

Monday: 3:30-5 p.m.

Tuesday: 6-7 p.m.

Wednesday: 5:15-6:45 p.m.

Friday: 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Don’t miss this oppawtunity :)
