Syracuse Spring Breakers In The Age Of COVID-19

As much as we hate it, COVID is still lurking more than your creepy tinder match.

While a lot of lucky bithces are still able to go on crazy spring break adventures, things aren’t quite what they used to be… Since when are there like 315 different strains of rona to worry about? The only thing on our minds is what bathing suits to pack and where we wanna take our insta pics. This just is NOT the mf time for COVID restrictions to creep in.

Since the guidelines change, like, every hour, here are some reminders from Jerk before you get your vaca on: For one, you most likely need to be vaccinated and boosted when traveling by plane. Each state might have different guidelines, so make sure to keep up with them. Secondly, masks are required for pretty much all public transportation. Low key worth it though to prevent all the other random germs from keeping you on bedrest when you should be clubbing in Miami.

The real drama though comes in when you are traveling outside of the States to a different country. The COVID test mandates are insane. Each country has different testing requirements so if you are looking to travel outside of the USA, make sure you look up the countries guidelines and read them like ten times. You wouldn’t want to not be able to go to Cancun because you didn’t follow the traveling guidelines. As much as it is fun to be spontaneous, you literally cannot be all cute and silly when it comes to making it past TSA.

In all seriousness though, if it’s even possible, traveling has become even more stressful with COVID than it was when we only had to deal with bearing our middle-aged parents in public. If you decide to travel, good f*cking luck. That’s about all we can say on that.

Pro tip: Spray your favorite essential oil into your face mask before taking off so that you’re left feeling calm and relaxed while inhaling the sweet smell of lavender. Might help ease nausea if you’re a nervous flyer too!

Linked below are some great websites to check out to get more traveling information and to keep up with the guidelines as they jump around like you & your girlfriends at Sig Ep last weekend.

If you’re stuck in your hometown next week, there are plenty of other options of fun things to do locally (kinda)! Maybe go out to dinner, read that book you’ve been meaning to, go to the closest city, dare we say download a dating app! Hinge is our fav. Sure, it might not be the same as blacking out night after night on the beach, but you can still black out night after night in your bedroom with your dog.

Happy spring break guys!
