Chaos at the Grammys

Hey Jerks. So, the fun, fashionable and drama-filled 2024 Grammys. Let’s talk about it shall we.

First things first: of course the biggest headline from Grammys night is Taylor Swift. After winning her Grammy for Best Pop Album, Swift took the opportunity to announce her newest studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” I think I speak for everyone when I say: I. Am. Sat. April 19th can’t come fast enough. Swift later went on to win the record breaking Grammy for Album of the Year, making her the only artist in history to have won that award four times. As deserved. 

The 2024 Grammys also celebrated Jay-Z for winning the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award and he took that opportunity to– talk trash about the Grammys? And shade everyone in the room using Beyoncé’s name? It was very awkward when the camera panned to her and their daughter Blue Ivy, who looked mildly uncomfortable the whole time. 

Let’s take this time to pivot and throw in a shoutout for the fashion. One of my personal favorite outfits from the night is Boygenius, who wore matching white suits with pink carnations pinned on their lapels. Definitely a true group slay.

Miley Cyrus’ Grammys looks that night were the talk of the town too. She probably whipped out like 10 different outfits throughout the night but here’s the killer– not a single one of them missed. Huge props to her stylist and whatever brand of hairspray she uses. But the real highlight of the night for me was Miley Cyrus getting her first ever Grammy win.  As someone who grew up watching Hannah Montana religiously, it was such a full-circle moment. (Also about time honestly, why did it take this long?)

So to wrap up– Taylor Swift remains the GOAT, Jay-Z seems to still be trying to make up for cheating, and Miley Cyrus is always and forever the moment. A solid Grammys season, no?
