Tramp Stamp Resurrection

The cyber sigilism tramp stamp is making a comeback after its time thrown away to solely promiscuity. In a reclamation of sexuality, body positivity, and artistic self expression, the tramp stamp is being reenvisioned into a new dawn of tattoos that are just for us.
The lower back placement of a tramp stamp makes it easy to hide, a concept once tied to shame, but the idea that hidden tattoos reflect regret is outdated. Maybe it’s not about hiding, maybe it doesn’t have to be about anything at all. If it’s not on your body, it’s not your business. All this, “I wouldn’t put a bumper sticker on a Bentley–” well, it's my car and I love my 1993 Toyota Corolla! Every tattoo is a story– the who, what, when, why, and how are always lively and unpredictable. I love asking people about their tattoos– and no, this does not mean I expect elaborate stories or deep intricate meaning for every tat. If you got a bunny tattoo just cause you thought it looked cute, that’s perfect! Do I expect you to be able to perfectly translate the cursive Latin you got on your ribs? Maybe, but if you want to make up a new meaning every time, that’s even better– all the power to you.
I met a man once at work who had the outline of California tattooed curving along the crook of his elbow. The best part of that tattoo? Not the genius elbow placement or its uniqueness, no no. The best part was that he got it while blacked out on St. Patrick’s Day and didn't register that he got it tattooed on the wrong arm. He has a permanent West Coast outline. Forever on the East Coast arm. Is that not awfully poetic? The most beautiful, gorgeous thing you’ve ever heard? Mr.Bi-Coastal is no bad tattoo story, he’s the people’s hero, he’s my idol. Now there are things I’d advise you don’t get permanently inked into your skin- i.e. racist or homophobic symbolism– we’ve all seen that one Grey’s Anatomy episode– or forms of cultural appropriation.
Maybe don't get tattoos for shows in progress or books with authors that turn out to be bad people. Other than the plain offensive, there are very few limitations on what you can get on your body and infinite possibilities, so give in! Get a tattoo and only be a *little* scared.
