Hello… Adele is Back
Adele is officially reclaiming her fame for the first time in six years as she steps into her rightful spotlight. After years of living a private lifestyle, she is now “ready to be famous again” according to her recent Vogue interview.
It has been six years since her last album release, so we at Jerk are officially freaking out with the sudden announcement of “30”, her new album and we know you are too. '
On October 1st, she teased her return with the number ‘30’ plastered on iconic buildings such as the Colosseum in Rome, the Louvre in Paris, and the Empire State Building in New York. Like, have you ever heard of a better way to hint at a new project? I didn’t think so.
On Friday, October 15th, she shocked us all with her heart-breaking, ballad single, ‘Easy on Me’ which touches on her recent divorce.
The three-minute and forty-four-second perfection that is ‘Easy On Me’ reminded us all why Adele is one of the best vocalists of our generation.
Adele has no animosity towards her ex which she expresses in her recent Vogue interview. She and Konecki filed for divorce in 2019, but she says that “Neither of us did anything wrong. Neither of us hurt each other or anything like that. It was just: I want my son to see me really love, and be loved. It’s really important to me.”
But don’t be quick to assume this album will just be heartbreak songs about her ex-husband. It’s not the kind of breakup album you think it is, “It was more me divorcing myself,” she says. Adele emphasizes her search for true happiness, and aren't we all.
So grab your pair of headphones and a box of tissues to get ready to stream ‘30’ on November 19th, cause we will.
