Christmas is Creeping in Too Fast

The end of Halloween sealed the deal for the rest of the year. Christmas trees and decorations have already been put up, Christmas sales are out aaaand… Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas” is already playing everywhere. Like seriously, I’m sure we all saw that video posted with her high pitched voice saying “It’s timeeeee” right?

Now – I am not trying to be a Grinch, I promise. It’s just that Christmas has now become two months instead of one and that just means I’ll have to sit through already overplayed Christmas songs for twice as long. That’s honestly criminal.

I’m just saying that this whole time I thought that Christmas started in December. Literally make a new holiday in between. We could start making Thanksgiving songs a trend… or something. I think that’s the only thing that’s going to prevent Mariah Carey from creeping into our lives earlier and earlier. Before we know it, bam, we’ll be hearing about Christmas in like July or August. And honestly if that happens, just know I will fully embrace my Grinch side then. 

I just want the Christmas songs to be held off until December. Or at least “All I Want for Christmas.” Is that too much to ask for?. Once again, this isn’t me hating on Christmas or Mariah Carey. This is just saying we don’t need two months for one holiday. Think about it.
