The Winter Shorts Phenomenon

Hey Jerks. Syracuse is known for its solid 30 degree temperatures and forcing us to bundle up and layer up in thick winter coats and scarves. But not all of us get the memo apparently, because I’m sure we’ve all seen them around campus – those people wearing SHORTS. Did we mention it’s below freezing?  

Now, I don’t know what appeal I’m missing here, because I personally be freezing my ass off. And I know they are too because they usually pair their shorts with some type of long-sleeve jacket.

So why the shorts?

It’s so peculiar. I geniunely think we need to launch a research project investigating why people wear shorts in winter. Is it just a dumb fashion statement? Or did their jeans not dry properly in the laundry room dryers leaving them with no choice but their shorts? (Which honestly, is actually valid, those dorm dryers suck).

Either way, as a non-winter shorts wearer, I have many questions and barely any answers. Someone share with the rest of the class.  Don’t be shy.
