Friday, OCT 2.

Experimental Music Night

With musical performances from Flose, Matt Weston & Paige Driass and Caleb Crittenden, ArtRage Gallery promises sounds from modular synths, electric toothbrushes and “discordant sounds that sound like a rusty junk yard free jazz jam.” Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets cost from $5 to $10.

Tony International Live Jazz Under Spoken Word

Featuring Tony Eiland and the house band SMX, this event blends traditional live jazz music with the unconventionality of spoken word. The event is at the Blackbox Theatre at the Community Folk Art Center General admission tickets cost $20, and doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Alternative Drag Showcase

To celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month, the Syracuse University Intercultural Collective and the LGBTQ+ Resource Center have partnered together to put on a drag showcase. The show is headlined by alternative drag performer and The Boulet Brothers' Dragula Resurrection,  winner Saint!. The show runs from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Underground in the Schine Student Center.

Saturday, Oct 3.

Fall Foliage Walk

Maybe you’re looking for something outdoorsy before the debilitating winter hits. Green Lakes State Park will host an educational 2-mile walk around Green Lake, where they will be discussing why leaves change color and how to identify various native trees. The walk begins at 10 a.m. at the Environmental Education Center.

House Party. A sweaty love-letter to the 2010s rager.

If you’re not super outdoorsy, but yearn for the sweaty rush of a house party, the Song & Dance is hosting a 2010s house party theme night, with music from MGMT, A$AP Rocky and Rihanna. The event is 21+ and costs $20. Doors open at 9 p.m.

Nights at Cage

Maybe you want to attend a real house party. The ever-elusive, underground Cage is always a hit. @nightsatcage on Instagram posted a sneak peak of this weekend’s party featuring the song “Let’s Groove” by Earth, Wind & Fire, so it’s looking like it will be a disco/funk set. But remember: you can only find the address if you DM them on Instagram.

Open Mic Night

Every Sunday, Funk n’ Waffles hosts an Open Mic Night with music, poetry readings and comedy. The event is 18+, and doors open at 6 p.m.
