Best Fall/Winter Coats Thanks to Shonda Rhimes

Unless you’ve been trying to cleanse yourself of media in the middle of nowhere, you probably are aware that Shonda Rhimes is the queen, king, and whole royal family of TV dramas. Everything that she lays her hands on turns to gold…or heartbreak. From “Grey’s Anatomy” to “Private Practice” to her most recent “The Catch,” Shonda keeps her fans in Shondaland constantly on edge and emotionally distraught, just how they like it. If you’ve ever wanted to become Meredith Grey or transform yourself into a Shonda-made character, read on. Between tears, you have probably caught a glimpse of Olivia Pope’s ridiculous outfits or Alice Vaughan’s killer shoes. We want to show you how to steal some fall-weather style inspiration from some of our most beloved characters.

Meredith, Greys Anatomy

Somewhere between Derek dying (We’re still crying over this) and Karev going to jail, Shonda got the surgical Gods whipped into shape with some style outside their scrubs. Meredith, often sporting a J.Crew-inspired outfit, is no longer a weeping widow but rather a hot MILF on the prowl (watch out, Riggs). Mer has honestly never looked better, and I am really appreciating this time when something unfortunate isn’t plaguing her life. Even though the Ortho Goddess Callie Torres has left the show (tear), her final departure in the final episode of Season 12 proved she wasn’t going out without looking hot as fuck.

Olivia Pope, Scandal

There’s no bigger badass on “Scandal” than our main home girl Olivia Pope. This bitch has been through every type of drama and still looks flawless as anything. Olivia’s classy look matches her tough personality, but nothing beats her impeccable choice of coats. When it comes to her look, the bigger the price tag, the better. These coats are used as statement pieces in lots of Olivia’s looks to bring her from daddy issues to head honcho. Although this designer style might stretch your budget, it could be worth investing in if you really want to create a name for yourself. You know what they say, “Fake it ‘till you make it,” and wear confidence like a designer coat.

Annalise Keating, How to Get Away with Murder

How many of you have had fantasies about sitting in the front row of “How to Get Away with Murder” being lectured at by the one and only Annalise Keating? This gripping show would not have the intensity it does without the characters each having their own distinct look. Annalise, is dressed as a professional with a twist, which is fitting because she’s covered up a shit ton of murders, which is totally twisty. Meanwhile Laurel, the brilliantly dark student, has a subtle class to her. Although she is creepy as shit at times, she has a very elegant air when it comes to fashion. And Michaela Pratt, an intelligent star pupil, is a mini Annalise. Her style is that of a younger and more ambitious, overachieving student. She may come across as a kiss-ass, but I think this bitch has got big surprises for the future.
