Jerk’s Halloween Playlist

If you’re anything like those of us at Jerk, you’re planning to turn the fuck up for Halloween. Of course, a crucial part of any turn up is the music, so we thought we’d throw you a playlist with some dope music that is also a little spooky. Whether it’s the sound, lyrics, or the artists themselves, these are some certified bangers that are perfect for Halloween.

From throwbacks to music that was literally just released last night, some of the songs were obvious picks, while some were a little more questionable. Here’s a breakdown of our favorites on the playlist.

“through the late night” – Travis Scott

If we could include every song off of this album (Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight), then I would. But since that would be a little excessive, we limited it to just three. This track, with an unlisted feature from Kid Cudi, samples Cudi’s classic track “Day n Nite,” which is also featured in this playlist. And, just like every other song on this album, has a real dark, somber feeling to it, making it perfect for Halloween.

“Transylvania” – Tyler, The Creator

Tyler, The Creator has always been one of the weirder, crazier, rappers in the game. This track, from Tyler’s 2011 album Goblin, has Tyler rapping almost entirely in an auto-tuned, monster-like voice. With the song’s references to vampires, it’s an obvious choice for the playlist.

“XO Tour Llif3” – Lil Uzi Vert

We’ve already toyed with the idea that Lil Uzi might be (is definitely) the devil. So, it’s only logical that Uzi makes multiple appearances in this playlist. “XO Tour Llif3,” which is arguably the song of the year, is a super dark song. And the music video features a lot of zombies and blood –– perfect Halloween material.

“Sauce It Up” – Lil Uzi Vert

This is the other Lil Uzi song on this playlist. Honestly, the only reason this song is here is because we’re pretty sure he says “Lucifer” multiple times at the beginning of the track. Decide for yourself.

“Rockstar” – Post Malone ft. 21 Savage

When it comes to the sound of this song, it’s really dark and starts off kind of creepy. Plus, 21 Savage makes anything kinda terrifying. Issa certified spooky banger.

“Mind Playing Tricks on Me” – Geto Boys

A throwback from 1991, this track talks all about paranoia. The first time I heard it, it reminded me of the classic (and creepy) Rockwell and Michael Jackson song, “Somebody’s Watching Me.”

“Nightcrawler” – Travis Scott ft. Swae Lee & Chief Keef

Unfortunately, this song has nothing to do with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (major props if you get the reference). Still, this is an amazing track. It’s got a really dope and distinctly Travis Scott sound to it. Make a bar crawl part of your Halloween night crawl.

“Monster” – Kanye West ft. JAY Z, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, & Bon Iver

This is a classic Kanye track off of a classic Kanye album (My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy). There are a lot of spooky references in this song, and there has always been something unsettling about Nicki’s deep voice. Bon Iver’s part is creepy too. Just a creepy song all around, therefore perfect for the creepiest night of the year.

Whether you’re dressing up as a sexy [insert noun here] or something a little wittier and creative, put this playlist during your pregame and you’ll be ready for the night, no matter how spooky it may be.
