Monday, July 4 | After an assassination scare from Fox News’ Twitter, it was declared that President Obama was alive and well. A couple of hackers created the false tweets causing the panic.
While most of us BBQed and ate a hot dog or two on the Fourth, Sonya Thomas was named the first female champion of Nathan’s hotdog eating contest. She downed 40 hot dogs, almost breaking her own record of 41.
Tuesday, July 5 | After a couple months and numerous tweets about the trial, Casey Anthony was found not guilty of murdering her two-year-old daughter Caylee. Anthony will go to jail for providing false information to an officer. Insert generic outraged statement about the US judicial system here.
If Casey plans to escape, she shouldn't use this tactic. A man tried to escape from prison in a suitcase after a women had a conjugal visit. The guards stopped the women with suspicion that the bag looked to bulky. We wonder why they let her into prison with a suitcase to begin with...
Wednesday, July 6 | In a valiant effort to prevent Google+ from nabbing all of his users, Zuckerberg is pulling out big guns and big collaborations to keep Facebook on top of the social media totem pole. Facebook recently announced its newest addition, a video chatting device provided by Skype.
After much anticipation and waiting, Don’t Ask Don’t Tell has been appealed. One more point for gays everywhere.
Thursday, July 7 | The record industry hasn't seen girl power quite like this since the Spice Girls were all the rage. After many years of suffering, the industry has finally seen some growth thanks to divas like to Lady Gaga, Adele, and Katy Perry, whose whole albums, not just singles, have sold millions of copies.
Think twice before you choose to relax after a long work week with a bubble bath accompanied by scented candles. Studies have shown that smoke from scented candles has almost as many toxins as cigarettes. Yikes.
