Remembering Buffy Summers’ Most Iconic Looks

Buffy Summers is quite possibly the Y2K style icon we need right now. Buffy The Vampire Slayer shot to fame in the late 90s and has recently made a comeback after being added to Hulu. Lucky for us, Buffy’s style perfectly captures how we all want to dress right now–funky accessories, mini skirts, and lots of leather. Let us take you on a journey through some of her best 90s looks, and give you the inspiration you need to channel that bad bitch slayer energy.

Buffy rocks leopard-print in a way that doesn’t feel tacky, and adding an oversized leather jacket overtop adds a bit of extra sexiness. Don’t even get me started on those knee-high boots, which are a perfect way to add class to any outfit. It’s time to up your shoe game and stop wearing your Air Forces with literally everything.

It can be tough to pull off overalls without feeling like a farmer, but Buffy has the solution. Pairing them with a colorful, patterned crop top really takes the “yeehaw” out of the look.

Sweater Vests & Satin

Sweater vests are all the rage right now and a certified autumn staple of vintage fashion. Here, Buffy pairs it with a satin miniskirt and it’s giving monochromatic chic. We recommend wearing this with sneakers for a casual everyday look, or a pair of knee-high boots for that extra level-up.

A funky pair of glasses is the best way to spice up any outfit. They’re super versatile too–when you wear them around campus, nobody will see your tears after you bomb that midterm.

When it comes to fashion, minimalism isn’t always the answer. We suggest mixing it up from time to time with an eye-catching pattern. Buffy paired her pink cherry skirt with a plain white tee and brown knee-high boots, and we can’t think of a better way to style it.

Buffy Summers was very much ahead of her time. Any girl that kicks ass on a daily basis needs a closet that kicks ass too. We may not have vampires to slay, but we have plenty of our own battles, so we might as well look good fighting them.
