The Best Fantasy Celebrity Couples of 2017

In the world of fandoms, “shipping” fictional characters and celebrity couples is commonplace. Fighting for a relationship to happen, whether or not it makes any sense, is amusing for many Internet users. If you’re lost on this concept, think back to the times of Larry Stylinson, fan-fiction’s combination of Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson during their One Direction fame. We may not care about (what remains of) One Direction anymore, but we do have some ships of our own. These are the couples the world really needs. Hillary Clinton & Kate McKinnon

When will Hillary just leave Bill for Kate already? Our hearts soared when we read the news that Kate and Hillary have been hanging out lately. We just feel like it’s time for a feminist power couple in matching pantsuits. In political times as dark as today’s, this couple could be a saving grace. We’re rooting for you, McClinton.

Matt Damon & Ben Affleck

This love story has been years in the making. They grew up together in Boston and made it big together in Hollywood. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are the best friends everyone just wishes would date already. They’re the butt of jokes at award shows because there is no denying their chemistry. It’s time to let the world know of their love. Plus, if you combine their names, you get Men, which is a fun couple name and we’re here for it.

Oprah and Gayle

Even when we watched Oprah with our parents as kids, we could tell Oprah and Gayle were feeling each other. 2017 is a safer time, ladies. It’s time to come out as a couple and be celebrated! The “best friends” have travelled the world together, worked together, and more. Gayle was next to Oprah even before her stardom. They met working on a TV show in their early twenties and have been close ever since. Similar interests and ambitions make a great building block in romantic relationship, so they’ve got that going for them.

Jhene Aiko & Donald Glover

We never got over Bed Peace or Pink Toes. We want—nay, need—more collabs of Aiko and Childish Gambino (Glover’s stage name). Both musicians are dating other people, but nothing compares to Donald Glover and Jhene Aiko together. Asked about their adorable music videos, the two say they never got together, but they won’t know until they try, right? Although they both have children, they could make a really cute blended family, in our humble opinion.

Jason Momoa and Emilia Clarke

This couple is the moon of our life. If you don’t watch Game of Thrones this one might be a little nerdy to you, but that’s a cross we are willing to bear. Momoa and Clarke are both ethereal and breathtakingly beautiful human beings that need to be together and spawn for the good of mankind. (**SPOILER ALERT**) When Khal Drogo died and left his wife Daenarys to live out her days without him, everyone’s hearts broke. The least the stars behind the characters could do is get married. Give the people what they want!

Zayn & The Weeknd

maxresdefaultThe two sexiest, sultriest, darkest bad boys on the music scene right now would make a beautiful pair. Think of the duets we could get out of them. Think of the breakup songs if they went their separate ways! Selena and Gigi could get together and be beautiful (yet boring) when their boys get together, too. That would be nice.
