How To Support The "Free The Nipple" Movement Without Flashing Your Professor
https://instagram.com/p/7lxFx9w7Nb/ We have all seen it from Miley’s outfit choices as well as Cara Delevigne’s Twitter posts. Titty things are trending and this is all because of the movement known as Free The Nipple.
For those that don’t know the specifics, Free The Nipple is an equality campaign meant to empower women across the world by standing against female oppression and censorship. So no, it is not about earning the right to bare nips 24/7 whenever and wherever, but the right to tell society to fuck off with the frequent tendencies of sexualizing breasts. Men fought for their right to be shirtless 75 years ago and they made it, so now it’s our turn.
We can’t be freeing our nipples around campus in front of our professors and student body unless we want Kent to send out a passive aggressive email (which no one would read). For those that are in favor of this movement, you may be wondering what your options are to support the cause. And of course, the answer to almost everything is fashion.
Ladies, it’s our time to shine. Here I present you the best accessories to show support for this effort towards global gender equality and confidently kill it where ever you go, using boobies as your statement item. Rihanna slayed exposing her breasts at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards with her bare all mesh dress featuring 216,000 Swarovski crystals. You too can turn some heads (even on a college budget) with these can't-stop-staring designs.
1. OMIGHTY’s Pixel Tits Tube Top
Throw away your basic black tube top and check out this rad one by OMIGHTY. As the description says, “LIL PIXALATED TATAS TUBE TOP :) Cute af #FREETHE NIPPLE”. You can use this tube top solely like a top or underneath a mesh top if you decide to not actually show your real tatas, unlike Rihanna.
This handmate statement tee sold on Etsy is one my perosnal faves from my titty fashion search. I am a really big T-shirt gal being that they are so multypuposed. You can wear them to class as well as go out. This t-shirt sold by Cyberhoard is unique inside the #FREETHENIPPLE mechandise spectrum because the Xs are actually exposing the nipples instead of covering them. Send the message while still having that laidback look with a t-shirt. *Adds to Shopping Cart*
T-shirts and other types of apparel with tits are the titz. However, if you are a strong supporter that want to go outside of the box then here are some fun, wacky pieces to check out that are sure to break some necks.
No nudist beaches around? Say no more. Throw out that basic Triangle Swimwear suit and people will stare at you twice with this bikini. Obviously don’t wear this on campus, but for the beach or poolside outings, or even as a 21st-birthday gift, seriously consider it (I would be stocked af). Unique is an understatement to describe this swimwear.
Make your look completely standout with Boob jewelry. There’s no way in hell that these boob necklaces won’t warrant a double take. This jewelry can give a cute, quirky vibe to your outfit. Plus, it is a total conversation starter, which is something I usually strive for with my outfits.
Now I know, all you fella's out there are wondering where you play a part in this.
Don’t think that you are excluded from this movement. Feminism is about gender equality and does not focus solely on women, contrary to popular opinion. If you’re a bro that supports the movement, and you actually do care for message of the campaign (not because… you know… tits) here is an option to show your boobie pride around too.
5. Free The Nipple Tees on Redbubble
Instead of just searching up stickers for your laptop check out and customize #FREETHENIPPLE Tees on Redbubble. Pick it out in your favorite color, wear it with a sleek hoodie, and show your support.
When people ask you about your pieces, educate them about "the nipple campaign." If they are not asking, that means they're staring and you've done your part in creating a buzz. Most importantly, if you are pro #FREETHENIPPLE, embrace the stares and flaunt your pride… but remember, always being fashionable.
