Sir Paul McCartney Takes Cuse

Screen Shot 2017-04-25 at 6.18.11 PM He’s no stranger to sold out arenas, amphitheaters and stadiums and has lived a life of fame, fortune, and rock n’ roll since the 60’s. On September 23, 2017, he will be coming to the Carrier Dome to play a nearly three-hour-long show with music spanning the last 50 years as part of his One on One tour.

His name is Sir Paul McCartney. And his tour opened April 13 of this year

Although he started off as the frontman of the Beatles in Liverpool in 1960, that is not his only claim to fame. As a singer, songwriter, and musician, McCartney has had quite the solo career earning acclaim from young fans to the Rolling Stone. It is said that the Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show. As with past tours, the One On One tour will feature dozens of beloved McCartney written songs spanning between his time with the Beatles, his solo career, and his current music with his band, The Wings.

This event was announced Tuesday morning in a press conference held by Pete Sala, Managing Director of the Carrier Dome, and Mark Shulman, Senior Vice President of The Bowery Presents. Even to the media present, this news came as a surprise as notifications of this event only stated that a “major event” would be announced. Somehow, everyone from Sala and Shulman to McCartney himself kept this concert date quiet from media and fans until this press conference, which leaves one to question: What other surprises could McCartney be planning for SU?

“This is an unbelievable moment for me, personally, to be able to make this event happen and bring it to the city of Syracuse, the Syracuse University Campus,” Sala said. “It’s important for us to find somebody that appeals to all ages. It doesn’t matter how old you are, everybody loves the Beatles and Paul McCartney.”

The Carrier Dome has held some impressive acts such as Billie Joel, Elton John, U2, Garth Brooks and many more, but this will be a first time playing in Syracuse for McCartney. This will be his only play in Upstate New York on this tour.

This event is presented by Martial Arts USA, The Bowery Presents and MPL.

Tickets go on sale Monday, May 1 at 10 AM on Ticketmaster. Tickets will cost $29.50 and, with this tour boasting massive screens, lasers, fireworks, and of course a rock legend, are expected to sell out fast.
