How Taylor Swift Became The Regina George Of #SquadGoals
https://instagram.com/p/4eG9CzjCcj/ We all have that one friend who always has to be the center of attention. No matter what you do, they always try to outshine you. I like to call these attention whores “parade’s,” because no matter where you go or what you do, the attention is always on them like they are literally on a float in the Macy’s Day Parade.
Yes, I get annoyed when I’m with my squad and the parade of our friends steals my spotlight. To be honest though, my biggest accomplishment is that I can rap ‘Lil Wayne’s whole verse in “Look At Me Now” so I get it if I get out shined. But if you actually do something brag worthy or if you figured out the cure to Swine Flu, it would suck to not get acknowledged for your accomplishments.
Taylor Swift is the ultimate parade when it comes to her crew (#squadgoals). Individually, they are super successful actresses, models, and singers, but somehow they always come in second to Taylor. I get that Taylor is flawless in every which way when it comes to her crew– after all, she’s the one who started the squad to begin with. But how do you think her friends feel when the Regina George of the squad steals all of their spotlight? Shitty. Gigi Hadid walked the runway in Paris, but Taylor Swift could buy a side table from Ikea and somehow turn that into the top trending story on Facebook. Cara Delevingne’s new movie Paper Towns just came out in theaters, but Taylor could’ve been sipping on a casual PSL and somehow everyone will be talking about how graceful she looked while sipping that PSL. True story.
Taylor seems like the type of girl that loves to be the parade and get loads of attention for literally doing nothing. Somehow, whenever one of her friends is doing something great, Taylor comes around and steals the show. If you ask me, she seems a little attention hungry. She tries to play it off like it was an accident, like, “I’m so sorry Selena, I didn’t realize me buying a fan a car would get more attention than the concert you had in Salt Lake City!” Yeah right, Taylor knew exactly what she was doing, but will have her over for a wine and game night to make up for it.
All I'm saying is that after a while, it must get really annoying to be her in her "squad." If I was a T-Swift squad member, I would be really pissed. I think its time the Regina George of their squad gets over thrown. A Cady Heron of the group needs to take control. Maybe start a new group chat without her, that's what I would do. They don’t have to live in the shadow of that parade any longer. Free yourself from the squad, or die trying.
