4 Sunglasses To Complete Your Summer Wardrobe
Dear Summer: your presence would be much appreciated right about now, so please get your ass over here ASAP. I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling this way, but I want to start wearing practically nothing all day and going to music festivals already.
When putting together a summer outfit, one of the most important elements are the accessories that you wear. Sunglasses are a summer essential and there are countless styles and shapes that you can choose from. Throw all the shade you want because some of the most badass sunnies this season will protect your eyes from all the basics you will encounter. Here are some of my favorite picks for the summer that will make sure all eyes are on your carefully shaded ones.
1. Cat Eye An extension of your winged cat liner, cat eye sunglasses accentuate your features in a flattering way. These sunnies are designed for the classy, sophisticated girl who wants to be a little edgy from time to time. For a more “out there” look, go for the transparent pair. This style is hard to pull off, but if worn with the right outfit, complete a really chic look. To be on the safer side, opt for the baby pink ones that seem to be the most popular and wearable by everyone. Literally anyone can pull these off and the color is on point for the summer season.
2. Lennon Round If you’re that retro girl who loves vintage vinyl and smoking weed, these John Lennon inspired sunnies are the ones for you. Your hippie tendencies will probably allow you to gravitate towards these shades anyway because they are retro and hip. These sunglasses are easy to style because they are so versatile and can be dressed up or down depending on your outfit. Pair them with a flowy sundress if you are going to brunch or even the beach, or throw these on with a romper and leather jacket to edge up the look.
3. Loud and Bold Take some risks this summer and step out of your comfort zone. Invest in a pair of these obnoxious, attention whore sunglasses just to change it up once in a while. They can be cute for music festivals or Instagram selfie purposes only. These statement sunglasses can be difficult to style with your wardrobe because they are not exactly practical for everyday wear (unless that’s your thing — in that case, you do you, boo boo). Pair these sunnies with plain, clean, simple outfits: monochromatic ensembles, T-shirt and jeans, or a plain maxi skirt.
4. Bright Color This season, colors are an extremely crucial element in many designers’ collections. Lots of bright accents can make your whole outfit pop and bring life to any boring, plain outfit. I would definitely wear something monochromatic or at least minimalistic when wearing bright colored sunnies. You don’t want too much going on all at once because you want the sunglasses to be able to stand on their own. Similar to the Loud and Bold sunnies, wear something clean and sleek to complement the bright colors.
You can’t throw shade without investing in some killer sunnies that will last you all summer. Depending on what kind of girl you are, there are different styles of sunglasses for everyone.
